Peanut Butter Frappé

These past few days, Jakarta has been nothing but a giant blast furnace! It has been, not sizzling hot, but evaporating hot! The temperature right now, as I am typing this post, is 34ºC (93ºF). One of my friends actually told me, it’s been predicted that the temperature will increase by 2ºC for the upcoming century. I don’t think I’ll be looking forward to this…

I was so ready to bake today, taking all the ingredients and equipments out of the cabinets, preheating the oven. Then came this thought, “I can’t bake in this temperature.” I drench in sweat as soon as I step out my air-conditioned room. So there’s no way will I be hanging around a heated oven.

I’ve decided, what’s one of the greatest thing to eat/drink in such a hot day? Cold drinks! And since I feel like my eyes have surrendered to gravity, I shall make myself a frappé!

I froze my brewed coffee in this adorable mould, which I found in a baking store. It was actually meant for chocolates I think. But, hey! Look how cute my coffee cubes are. =]

And yes, I am in love with my french press.

 

INGREDIENTS
1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup almond milk
2 tbs natural peanut butter
2 tbs maple syrup

serves 1
1. Freeze the brewed coffee.

2. When the coffee cubes are frozen solid, put everything in a blender, and blend for about 1 minute, or until everything is mixed.

3. Top with homemade PB cups.
